My Craftsman generator is not running right. I know why, but I don't know how to solve the problem. The gas tank has quite abit of debris in it. How do I clean this out? I took the gas gauge out of it. The fuel line is stopped.

If its a Tecumseh engine then you will probibly need to clean the carburetor. How old is it? It seems the carburtetors are the weak points on those engines.

If this unit doesn't have fuel line filter put one in.

Clean out the whole system, clean the carb. change fuel filter. If the old fuel has been there a while the carb will have to be taken apart and cleaned. After all that is done put a new plug in it fresh fuel with additive it should go.

I checked the carb but is was very dry, no signs of gumming. I think the fuel line and filter are completely stopped. I am going to run it with a new fuel line.
