I finished a cleanup job and mulch for a lady several weeks ago. The cleanup fee was $150 and mulch job $250. I thought this was a reasonable price. She said that I had told her $250 for everything. Well thing is I didnt have any paper work saying how much it would cost with her signature. There is really no way that I could fight this in small claims court. I really dont want to anyways. I just have to suck it up as a lose. In the future however I will have an estimate drawn up with a breakdown of the cost of labor and material, and them sign it before I start any work.

A verbal agreement is not good enough to hold up in court if you need to fight for your money. Have everything documented!!
