gettin' new accounts

    I've tried a lot of different things.Flyers,ads in
    coupon magazines,ect. I get customers from referrals
    but is going much too slowly for me! The big co's
    say that phone solitation is the only thing that works
    but, I cannot spend my time doing that (as you may get
    1 estimate/50 calls and 1 customer/30 estimates.

    matt when i quit cutting i got hooked up with a few lawn services that i know and they started to refer me work.

    Hire a service to do your telemarketing.
    They ask the (potential) customer to leave someinformation at the door. They'll fax you the list at the end of the day as to which customers were interested and you run the estimates.

    1 in 1500 (30x50) sounds awful.

    Tried phone solicitation using a very professional company in spring 2000. Got lots of leads but bad close % compared to direct mail. Won't wast my time again.
