Getting Legal in Virginia

    Can anyone offer any assistance or be able to awnser questions specific to getting legal in Virginia? What do you guys pay in insurance usally for a 1 truck, 1 trailer small operation. Thanks

    All of the info. you need is on the web - however, you will have to mail forms to the state and also get your local permits. The SCC (state corp. commission) will register your company under the entity type you choose. Have you decided on that yet? Sole proprietor? LLC? As for insurance - make some calls - it is a competitive market. I use Erie ins. - $1 mil. liability for just under $300/yr. (but I do pesticides and ferts). If you put a sign on your truck, most carriers will make you have a separate policy from your personal stuff. Don't have the #'s on that one right now, but check your current carrier first and then call around to compare. Good luck.
