    Hello group,

My name is Ken Norris of Ken's Yard & Field Services in Friday Harbor, Washington. I've been working in this area since 1991.

This season, I've been having a serious problem with some kind of giant clover. It gets leaves up to 4 inches across, and 2 foot runners are common. It's taken over large parts of my lawns. Looking around at yards being cared for by others, I see they are having the same problems.

We had a lot of rain (not unusual in the NW) last winter and some very hot (record-breaking) dry days recently. I'm fearful of using heavy chemicals due to burning and possible flow (from the sprinklers on steep terrain) into the pond on the property of my biggest client.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ken N.
