Just curious on the time frame you guys hold out on new housing. Referring to the overdig situation. How long untill you guys feel it's safe enough to warranty your work to build a patio or retaining wall next to the house where the over dig was performed?

I'll install a patio as soon as they pour the foundation walls as long as they know an overdig stabilization MUST be done. There really is no "timeframe" to speak of. Many factors come into play, type of fill, time of year it was backfilled, etc. We have done overdigs on houses that were 5 years old, you just have to have the knowledge and experience to know what suitable soil looks/feels like. I always like to do a little something either way in the area that steps or a landing may be installed due to the weight.

I would just assume any house 10 years on less is going to need some type of soil stabilization and if it's new, don't assume just plan on it.
