The world's getting hotter, the sea's rising and there's increasing evidence neither are naturally occurring phenomena. So says a report from the U.N. International Panel on Climate Change, a document released every six years that is considered the benchmark on the topic. More than 800 authors and 50 editors from dozens of countries took part in its creation.

The U.N. is 95 percent sure that we are causing global warming.

Part of me doesn't want to believe them, but how can you argue with people who know a heck of a lot more about this than us?

Pretty simple when their jobs\funding\lives are predicated on the alleged fact of AGW.

No AGW.....no funding for studies. No funding...........no job. No job............no groceries.

Remember the earth is flat and the sun revolves around it.

Not to mention: the earth used to be warmer, remember the dinosaurs? Or why is Greenland called Greenland even though it's covered in ice? Or why the hurricanes were only going to become more frequent, more devastating and more deadly yet we have had minimal hurricanes since Katrina.

    Mark,
You bring up a good point about no funding, no job. But I don't think it's that simple.
But if we are causing global warming, don't you think the green industry is in a good place considering that turf and trees will eat up that CO2?

Weather has been and always will run in cycles.

Absolutely, and we should be letting people know that we were the initial "green" industry.

We've been practicing IPM since before IPM was IPM. Adjusting irrigation controllers based on weather. Fertilizing when turf needs it vs "it's that time of the year" again. Using PGR's to reduce labor, fuel, clippings; even with shrubs.

There is a lot we can do, weather (pun intended) we are the cause of global warming or not. (We aren't, it's a cycle as easy-lift guy stated.)

One thing I am sure is that SE temps, on average, have warmed up in the past 20 years.
