So in other words, the enviro-nazis should be worried about China and not the clean burning plants in the US?

    I agree.

You know, you would think China would have learned from our mistakes and start using the clean coal method? Maybe they think it is too expensive. We should definitely be working with them to help change their coal burning plants over. Not money but technology help. Really won't matter what we do if other countries don't do the same. I am not going to debate Global warming. I just like to see the Blue sky and be able to breath fresh air--don't you Mark? I really don't want to mow in the smog like the Chinese do. There is extremist when it comes to the environment that is for sure. Just as there are extremist who go the other way. Extremist going the other way have led to the health problems the Chinese are suffering through. This has cost the Chinese government a fortune in treating these medical related problems

Not sure about Global warming, but I do believe humans has and continues to do Global impact. Resulting in warming who knows, but it does contribute to air quality, water quality, wildlife quality and so on.

Its been one of the coolest years on record, it man could control the weather the global warming should be calling the problem fixed.

The truth is global warming is a billion dollar business, for the right amount of money any so called scientist will say the earth is about to melt. Its all a anti-capitalist scam.

When I visited China the cities are by far more modern and MUCH CLEANER then US cities.

Apparently, they are claiming 2 BILLION dollars a day to fix it. Sure.

Yes, Charles I do appreciate blue skies, clean rain and being able to eat fish I catch and game I shoot. Not sure we need to spend a billion dollars a day to get to that point.

Chinese were given our nuke missile technology, might as well give them clean burning coal technology.

I just like to go to a US city without my car falling into a pot hole and without getting mugged. Then theres those us cities that have the homeless everywhere.

If you've ever been to LA youll know what air pollution really is, its the worst in world.

Don't know why everyones worried about China, when American cities look more like Detroit everyday.

I thik the pressure brought on the coal industry made them come up with new and better ways of doing things ie clean coal. I think it save the industry from going out of businee completely. People here wouldn't tolerate how bad it is in China

No, not skeptical at all! Its funny, I was going to bring up pollution in general but though better of it. I was going to bring this up in particular... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pacific_garbage_patch

Anyway, the point I was getting at is unless we can come up with a realistic way to replace energy derived from coal, nothing will change.
Taxing you and I wont stop it, unless we're taxed to the point where we cant afford to buy anything. ie, China crashes, stops the need for energy = less pollution. But that will mean the loss of mining and all associated jobs. That would be VERY bad for our economy with the trickle down or knock on effect.

I really dont know the answers thats for sure, its just really hard to know who to trust and or believe. I have no doubt there is big money involved. Cap n trade for example! What a load of sh!t! Corruption!

At the end of the day I do want clean air, water and non GM food. Cleaning up China, India etc is a great start but as I said, we need something to replace or drastically reduce the amount of coal being burnt world wide.
We need a new energy source!

Think of all those billions being wasted on the wars for oil. If only a fraction was used on R&D surely someone could come up with a solution. Or is that just wishful thinking? How about subsidised solar panels on every roof, all fed into the grid during the day to power industry. Feasible? I dont know!
Ahhhhhh, it does my head in and is why I gave up a long while ago thinking anything will change.

The world really is getting screwed over. Be interesting to see what its like in 100yrs from now. I feel sorry for my grand kids.

There's a difference between weather and climate, guys. Weather is over short-periods, climate over long; so, yes, the climate can be changing--heating up in fact-- while the weather is colder than average for that year (or for those years).

Understand? I guess it's the science, but it also seems like language confuses many people.

This is an old thread and I don't believe anyone is confused by words. Either you believe the world is warming or you don't.
