Even though my skidsteer is 4sale, im in need of some new tires. ive pretty much got no traction on soft ground anymore, some decent chunks missing and all tires have plugs.

currently machine has 10 x 16.5 on it. would i be able to put 12 x 16.5 on my current wheels?

i found a pretty good price on some tires or i could spend about $400 more and get new wheels.

Buy a good quality tire and stay away from the cheap ones. You will be saving a little money up from but they will wear out faster

You could always look for hippos.. or something similar. I think Galaxy made them but there are other brands. They will hold up plus give you a bigger footprint. Some of the stiffer tires will hold up to nails and punctures but they will sink more in mud or sand or soft ground. If you can get a wider footprint that is still soft enough to grip, that would help you. Just going wider won't help as much if the tires are real stiff. though I mostly work in rock, I will lower my air pressure occasionally for soft ground BUT you have to watch that your rims don't spin inside the tire. It's tough finding that balance so finding a tire that will provide that footprint and still hold onto the rim, would be the best bet.

Make sure that the offset of the rim is correct or else they won't fit on your machine.

Would the 12 x 16.5 fit on my current wheels with 10 x 16.5 on them?

Thinking that a new set of tires might help the machine sell.

The 12" tires would fit on your rims.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from Omar over the years...he's a great guy to deal with. Those tires will hold up in dirt just fine, but if you're on dry pavement a lot...they are too soft. Another friend of mine uses them on his LS190's for snow removal and he gets two years out of them on pavement.

Since you're eventually selling your machine, I think they will be a good fit. He has rims that have different offsets. Make sure your bucket is wide enough if you go bigger.

I don't think his 12's are much wider than his 10's...maybe an inch if I remember correctly? I know he stocks several different options in tires now....some deep lugs as well, etc.
