whats a good back pack blower to start with, i went to my local stihl dealer because they used to be 300 bucks for their middle of the road blower they called it, now they want 450 for what they got. I dont want to spend that much on one right now, so is their something comparable but not as much money.

Maybe look at the echo 440 series. I believe they are somewhat entry level and are at a nice price point

do they have decent power, i mean my trimmer is stihl and i wanted to keep the tools the same but not for that price while im just starting out. I mean i have a few lawns ive had for years, but me and my push mower are going to make a run for it this year unless i can find a walk behind for like 800 to a 1000. I dont even know where to start looking up here where i am.

It should be pretty powerful, but I don't own one. That price on the stihl is pretty high. I bought a RedMax 8500 for 489 plus tax. Have a look on http://www.wisesales.com/ I just bought a shindaiwa blower from them for a good price. They sell echo I believe and will have more info in their lineup of blowers aswell as prices

I have a stihl BR 600 Magnum which is top of the line. Retail is in high $400s and thats the best they make. O yes, it is amazing. Lightweight, comfortable, and powerful.

I have two husqvarna bt150 blowers. They are good blowers. Your not going to move mountains, but it will suit you well. It's $300.00 + tax at lowes or you can go to a dealer.

I bit the bullet last fall and got one toward the end of clean up season. biggest mistake I made was waiting so long and doing huge cleanups with piddly ass equipment. just get the right stuff the first time, you'll never be upset that you have too much power, but will be pissed when it takes forever to do a cleanup

I bought the Redmax 8500 and honestly it really gets the job done quickly and has tons of power. Even for grass clippings it really speeds things up and you don't even have to go full throttle but thats out of your price range. I'd definitely get the biggest you can get. Look at the Redmax EBZ6500.
