Im in the market for a Z machine, and I have a oppotunity to buy a USED 03 Super Z with about 100hrs . They are looking for 8K for it. At first it seemed steep to me, however it comes along with a dethatcher attachment and a rear bagger.

I can buy a new Super Z for about 7700, I dont forsee the need 4 the bagger, but then 1 never knows what I may want later.

    Anyone have any thoughts

Also for PJ, Does the warranty carry over?

If you have no need for the bagger now I would go with the new unit.
We currently do not allow warranty transfer, but we have made exceptions in the past.

I believe Im going to go with the deal, as we were able to come to terms on a reasonable price.

Anything I should look out for on a used machine?

Did you buy it yet ?
Things I would be most interested in when buying used is:
    Engine compression
    Fluid conditions (burnt or low)
Filters (clean or ere they just replaced)
I would pull the air filter hose and check for dirt ingestion near the carburetor, if there is dirt there, someone ran it with a real bad filter)
Overall condition, does it look like it was abused ?
Drive, does it drive strong ?

There are several other items I would be looking at, but these are the main points I would start with.

    Hope this helps

    PJ,

I took a pass, I had our shop go thru it, and yes the engine was fine (only 2 weeks old). Bu the Hydros and the sterring rresonse just wasnt there. We also doubted the hr clock was accurate. We figured if that was off what else was off.

    So we passed
