Hey I found what I thought was a good deal on a toro walkbehind on craigslist for 500.. It's a 2001 44" but my question is what do you think? Good buy or bad buy? All feedback is appreciated

Does it run? How are the rest of the moving parts. Not a terrible deal but for reference I got a hydro scag last year for 600 similar shape but runs and everything works.

Runs and everything else is in good shape too. I looked at a scag but I'm not a fan of fixed decks

If it works and does what you want it to then $500 seems like a good buy.

Yeah we'll see. I pick it up tomorrow evening so I'll start breaking it down and going through it in the next few days

Also do you know where I can find the cover that goes over the Frame above the deck?

For that price I would worry that it's stolen, they sell new for 5 thousand and you're asking if it's a good deal?

Partstree.com and be prepared to fork it over, from what I can see there are two...
One for each side, $63 each, plus shipping.

That thing wouldn't get stolen even if you tried:waving:
Look at it closely it can be a money pit

    Let me rephrase myself...

See, when I say I wonder if it's stolen what I'm really saying is I'm wondering what is wrong with it.
It needs a good cleaning, for starters.

Then again even as a parts machine, it's worth $500.
