I am looking into buying a new Utility trailer for my biz, 5x8. Am getting prices new from around $700 (Carry on - cheapy) to $1,200 (PJ, homemade fabricated). I am not really wanting to go with the cheaper Carry On...but what I am wondering is, what is a good average price to pay for a quality 5x8 here in the Upper Midwest? Seems like the trailers I am most interested in are running a hair over $1,000 and that seems high - anyone know if I can do better and if so with whom?

Those are good prices. I bought a PJ 5x10' trailer w/ a 3500# capacity for $1100. I got it in Ottertail. Sparks Custom Trailers.

Just remember my friend, you get what you pay for! If you buy one of those cheap trailers from Nothern Tool or Menards expect to get about two seasons out of it if even that. Don't step over a dime to pickup a nickle, buy quality.
