    Guys,

Snagged a new resi lawn today and the gentleman said he had an issue with turf disease in his lawn. I took a look. What I saw were a couple nearly 20 ft wide hollow rings, green in the middle, while the ring itself (4 inches wide or so) was dying out and turning brown. I need to get a couple pics but thought I would post in the meantime.

I have been dealing A LOT with Necrotic Ring Spot but I have some doubt whether this ID is correct for this lawn. For one thing, the lawn is mostly fescues where the disease is prevalent. Also, the lawn smells of low fertility as there are violets in the lawn which generally indicate low fertility.

Have narrowed it down to NRS, Fairy Ring, or Summer Patch. Fairy Ring seems a possibility as the rings are much larger than the other two diseases. Any thoughts?
