Any reason in particular your looking at a 54" deck?

You'll have better resale and more trim offset with the 60"

i cut a lot of smaller yards. average 1/4 acre

i just think a 60 is just too big??

i do cut some larger 2 acre jobs. i have a 54" kubota now and it seems to be a good size deck.

Just keep in mind you won't have any trim offset with the 54" deck. If your OK w/ that, then I would suggest getting the biggest engine you can.

I just paid $8050 for a 66" super z with 30hp Kohler and flex forks thrown in.

This might be a dumb question but what are flex forks?

Hustler offers a type of suspension on their front forks called Flex Forks that work on a heavy duty rubber-torsion device very much like those used on trailers.

The amount of cutting space outside of the mower's left track. In other words, how much the left blade cuts outside of the wheel track. The more trim available, the easier it is to cut around trees and beds. It also helps with overlaping on larger decks.

When there is no trim offset available, like in the case of the Z 54", you can't get as close to trim around those objects.

I hope it makes sense to you.
