    nah, depends on your definition of "bitter".

    I think "hard core" would sum it up better!

    After 9-10 years of annual shin-digs consecutively focusing on door hangers - it becomes comical! But the shirts and jackets and food are appreciated.

    I bet you this year there will be very little talk about door hangers.....

    I was told the local paver co was having training. I took the crew they showed us their new catalog websit and tv commercial. I was glad I paid my guys to go to it. Lunch was good and we got a t shirt and hat.

    If you're relying on your paver supplier to tell you how to market you're screwed. Pete's a sales hunter, I'm a farmer, when he gets ramped up on something that's not my speed I either try and get a nugget of usefulness out of it or check my email.

    Door hangers are great in new neighborhoods, but in established areas, they already know who to trust. I remember going that method back when we started up. It was somewhat successful.

    I got an e-mail from Nicolock for their upcoming gig.

    Of the 3 manufacturers (Techo, Nicolock, & EP Hen) the Nicolock gig sounds the most appealing.

    But you will still be at all 3.......
    Happens to me every year, I'll say to my foreman, "why are we here? Next year we are not Comming" and here we sit the next year

    Nah, I have had enough of Techo's showcases. They're more geared for the start up contractor. 17 yrs of hardscaping and surviving (barely) the recession, rebounding stronger than ever - I think I know how to market and sell, wouldn't you agree? :)

    And the others are too far of a travel.
