Government jobs?

    Does anyone know how to get government jobs?

    Are you talking federal government jobs or local city government. No idea on the federal one's but the city jobs go to town hall and talk to the clerk or city engineer, mayor, etc.. Also look in the news papers for them accepting bids on various jobs.

    I don't know too much about federal jobs, but, I have been employed by a small town in NJ for 16 years. I have seen applicants come and go.
    The best advice I could give anyone looking for a job is:
    1) Fill out an application
    2) If you know someone one the inside ask them to drop your name
    3) (MOST IMPORTANT!!) Ask about (any) part time employment to get your foot in the door. Alot of full timers start out by working part time. Get your foot in the door, show up on time ALWAYS, and work your butt off to show your work habits.. Good luck
