How do you know that your local sign shop is giving you a good deal? Like this:
Measure the height and width of each individual graphic image or digital lettering.... IE: 42" x 96" = 4,032". Divide by 144 = 28 square feet. Multiply 28sf x $8.50 = $238.00. That's the amount the digital graphic is worth retail printed on 2mil premium film with a 2mil clear overlaminate. The overlaminate is a UV inhibitor and prevents the effects of sandblasting and helps prevent rock chips.
This overlaminate could be sprayed with laquer rattle can paint by a vandal and still be cleaned off with laquer thinner with no damge to the graphic.
Free standing vinyl characters ae based on a different price structure which I will cover later.
It won't matter if the image is customized lettering or an actual photo of a completed jobsite project. The Square foot charge should be the same.

This unit cost $4,154.00 installed on the truck, and this is a far more intricate installation than most trailers. Trailers such as a Haulmark have screws which are typically removed with a high speed power driver. The truck pictured has rivets shich can be worked as if they aren't even there if your sign shop knows what its doing.

Front and side... pardon the reflection. The door lettering is actually gold leaf.
The front pillars were not wrapped because of bug hit maintenance.

Rear roll up door. The graphic is worked over the rivets and right to the outer edges.

Note that the rear pillars are completely wrapped with the digital image. This was the most labor intensive part of the whole installation.

Full on side. The graphic covers the entire side.

This whole truck is a traveling advertisment. It took my son and daughter a total of 5.75 hours to install the whole thing.
Use this information as a rule of thumb when getting a quote from a signs shop. The art work will be a seperate charge, but I can tell you that with the kinds of computers that we have in our studio it goes very fast.

The truck belongs to the client. We do these on a regular basis.
