Grass growing at night?

    This could be a really dumb question but does grass grow much at night. I would think w/o sun for photosythesis it wouldn't grow much, or at least maybe it wouldn't grow as much as during the day. Just Curious

    A grass plant has the ability to store food produced during daylight photosynthesis, therefore utilizing it when it is needed, ie nightime and cloudy days.

    Actually with the heat we have been having, it seems like the lawns green up a bit more during the darker, cooler hours, and always look better first thing in the morning before the daytime heat kicks in.

    Yeah, I look much better in the morning too. Then the sun comes out and cools things down to about 100 degrees and I start withering.
