Who makes the pump/motor assemblies in these things? I really dont want anything to do with them, but my dad brought one in that wont drive on one side.

It is the right side unit. Anyone have a part number for this and any info on who makes it? If you need I can grab the serial number if they changed them over the years...

those are eaton units model 7's
i would guess that the dump valve on that side is not closed

Also, belt tensioner could be frozen up and not putting tension on the drive belt.
Worst case, pump/motor unit is bad. Cost for a new unit is around $800.00 now.

if it's not the dump valve, belt, filter or fluid then remove the unit and take the front off of the pump. look for a cracked or broken swash plate which is common.

sounds like maybe the final drive is bad if it can free wheel real easy. can you spin the wheel by hand and it keeps spinning?
