I am looking at getting the 727 but can't find anywhere what is the blade tip speed for the 61" deck.

Not a big deal, but I called the company and they said "it meets ANSI secs".

What kind of an answer is that? I asked if they had ever measured the speed and she said "oh yeah, we have measured it. It meets ANSI specs".:hammerhead:

Just wondering if anybody has the answer to this? Been bugging me

18,500 blade tip speed is the industry standard for most commercial mowers and I'm sure Grasshopper meets this.

With the engine running at factory recommended RPM's, Grasshoppers will have a tip speed right at that spec.

ANSI B71.1(consumer) and B71.4(commercial) limits blade tip speed to 19K feet per minute (FPM)
