I just bought a grasshopper 718 for my lawn. It has the bar tread tires and sometimes they tear up the grass when I turn around or go around something like a tree. Any suggestions on how to turn so it doesn't dig in and tear up the grass? Should I just talk to the dealer about getting the turf tires for it like those on the 600 series, or does it just take practice?

Any ZTR tire will scuff your lawn in turns if you do not use care, and the proper method for turning. You need to practice your turns using either a 3 point turn, or using a counter rotating tire method of turning. With practice, you will be able to avoid the scuffing/tearing problem.
