gravel code?

    hey i was just wondering how you learn what to call all of the gravel? 22b, 21a? what does it all mean?

    Go to your local Quarry and ask. I live in Md. with pa. 2 miles away and they have a different # for each stone. For example a in Md. a 3/4 is called a 57 in pa. it could be a 8. Pa. uses a and b for some reason. Stone is not always standarized from state to state.

    Just to expand a tad on the great tip Mike33 gave; when at the quarry office/scale ask for a price sheet. This should have all the stone/sand terminology listed along with the corresponding cost.
