Gravely pro 40 tracking

    i have an older gravely pro 40 (belt with pistol grips), and i am having trouble getting it to track well. It started off tracking to the right, so i thought i would tighten up the right side adjustment (the bolts on the threaded rod going to the belt tension pulleys), this did a bit but i ran out of room, so i loosened the left side. I got it to go close to straight, then i would turn it a little farther, and it would lock up on me. Like the wheel would not spin then all of a sudden it would rip up the lawn and take off. I backed them both off a tiny bit. Now the mower will not climb even a small hill. Anybody have any ideas
