i read on some other posts that john deere bought out great dane mowers.
does anybody knows if this is true?
i looked on the great dane site and you can get financing through john deere credit. i was looking at the john deere 777 ztr, but i might look at the great dane mower if it was built by john deere. also i wonder if you can get parts through john deere dealers.

Our dealer has these machines and parts in stock. They also finance them.

Yes, they did buy out Great Dane.

My ol mate has a JD z and we've run Dane and Deere side by side on a few occasions now in different conditions.

The Danes have better cut quality...... at speed.
The frame looks alot stronger on the Dane.
Dane has better departure angles than JD.
I really like the inbetween the leg controls on the Danes but it aint for everyone.
I don't like the way the new Danes have a hand deck lift, foot operated is much better IMO.
The dampening and rebound, hydro charictaristics on the Danes controls fells great to me compared to the vauge steering control on the Deere.
I don't know what kind of spindal housing the JD's have but the Danes are aluminium and will crack easier than cast iron etc. But on the up side they are cheap to replace.

    Demo them both matey.

I'll be suprised if you don't like the Dane better.
