Green Simplicity really a Ferris?

A dealer in my area is selling a used green simplicity 21hp Vanguard, 48" fab. deck for $3500 with 220 hours (approx 2-3 years old). Talking to him about it, he said that the older green Simplicity's are acutally Ferris machines with the Simplicity name on it.

Can anyone validate this statement? Also, if they are different than the Ferris models, what exactly is different? Finally, is $3500 a good price for this machine.

    Thank you!

After doing some research, I think that this mower may acutally be a Simplicty Derby. Several websites state that this is a Ferris mower with a Simplicity deck. Are these models different than what is available today from Simplicity?

Ferris has never had a 48" deck with a 21 hp on it ever...hydro or belt that I know of. $3500 for that unit is vey high IMO.
