Greenhouse over pond

    Instead of covering my pond with a home-made greenhouse this year. I bought the real thing. Now It should be ready for high winds, snow, ice, bitter cold and anything else old man Winter can throw at it. I feel a lot better! The black straps you see, are wind straps. They keep the cover from flapping in the wind.

    Nice setup. Do you still run the pumps and filters? Any extra heat?

    I shut down my skimmer pump, but am running my main filter pump. That way I can keep my U/V and main filter running. I have a remote temperature sensor sending unit in the greenhouse, that sends info to a display/monitor hanging on the wall in my bedroom. That way, I can glance at the wall and see what the temperature is in the greenhouse at night (when it's coldest). If the temperature in the greenhouse should happen to drop below a preset temperature, the monitor on my wall will sound an alarm. That would only happen if some kid cut into the greenhouse overnight though. It stays fairly comfy in there.
