Hello everyone, my name is Kipp and I am looking into getting into a very small lawn mowing venture. It would be my dad and I (just for a little extra money for myself and family). I have done a little lurking and reading and have a couple of questions in regards to this. What I am envisioning (because I have a full-time job as well) is doing maybe 10-12 lawns a week (mostly on the weekends).

The machine that I like is a Cub Cadet Signature Cut 50 inch 24 HP RZT, Zero Turn...any input on this for doing this small volume per week?

Also, do most of you landscaping guys "bag" the grass, or not?

I also read that a lot of you try to get between $35-$65 an hour to do this...is that pretty standard (obviously the larger lawns are more and the smaller are less). Is there kind of an "industry standard" that you go by? Kind of like a set amount for 1/4 acre, 1/2 acre, etc?

How would the Cub Cadet do on gas, for lets say, a 1 acre lot?

Sorry for the "noob" questions...just trying to figure out what I am getting myself into before I buy equipment and get going. Thanks in advance for all your advice...

Bagging ain't really my bag. And cubs are fine mowers.

    Shoot for 100/hr.

Then start to learn to price per job not per hr

This is stuff to learn on your own as you go.
