Wanting to know about your stones for the 8000 grinder. The price per stone is 17.50 or 165.00 for ten ? How many blades on a average are you able to sharpen with one stone wheel ?

    Hello Firefighter,

The price of the MAG-8000's 1/2 inch wide grinding wheel (part number 8000-30RP) is:

    $17.50 (each - in quanities of 1-9)
$16.50 (each - in quanities of 10 and greater)

    10 grinding wheels x $16.50 = $165.00 per box of 10

Here is the link to the grinding wheel section of our ONLINE STORE.

The ## of blades that you are able to do with one grinding wheel is a VERY difficult number to approximate, because it is a direct function of how much steel you need to grind from each blade. Here are some very general approximations we gathered from our customers.

    1" wide grinding wheels = 150 - 300 blades
    1/2" wide grinding wheel = 100 - 200 blades

These numbers can go higher and lower of course depending on your usage of the machine. In general we approximate that you will spend ($0.12) of the grinding wheel per blade.

These approximations are of our softest wheels (most productive - shortest grinding time), we do carry slightly harder wheels to accomodate people who would like the wheels to last a bit longer, but who are not that concerned with getting the job done as fast as it could be.

With our sharpeners you can expect to sharpen a blade in about 60 seconds or less. (a commercial blade)

If you have any other questions please ask.

    Thank you,
