What kind of ornamentals were in the beds? I treat beds with known broadleaf weed issues with a tank mix of Ronstar Flo and Gallery applied as a directed spray under shrubs, over the top of tolerant ground covers. Weeds that have a high seed bank in the soil might be killed by RoundUp at the time, but often emerge around a just killed weed. There have been many ornamental areas I have cleaned up with a directed spray of Scythe and Ronstar.

ihad forgotten the name of this pest, i hate it. it is not easy to kill, but i sometimes just pull it to ensure the weed seeds dont spread worse. that makes a huge difference.
