Is there a basis on how many grubs you can have per so many square yards before they say you are at risk of losing your yard?

10+ per square foot is what I read somewhere (Beard?). I believe that is about right as far as my experiences go.

yes 10-15 per square ft is enough to cause lawn damage. if you are seeing them now I would recommend waiting till July and applying merit. the grubs you see now wont do much damage if any.

Just goes to show you how different thresholds are evaluated.
I use two as a basis for currative apps - then preventitive for at least a year following.
Remember though that with my soil temps throughout the year, I'm experiencing a continuous degree day pressure the entire year.
