I'm pretty new to this (2nd year). I currently run a Hustler Mini-Z 19hp Kawasaki. I'm wanting to upgrade mowers to something with a deeper deck and bigger motor. I have been looking at either a Hustler Super Z 54" XR-7 with a 25hp Kaw, or an Exmark 28hp Kaw AS.

I was offered a new Hustler Super Z with 54" XR-7 deck and 27 Kohler for $7200. Plus Hustler has the 1.9% financing.

Give me some info regarding Kohlers, in particular the 27hp.

Dont waste your time with a kaw. Stick with the Kohler. Seriuosly, engines are engines and A lawn mower is duty for an engine. I wouldnt pay much extra for any particular brand.

I have run Kawi's and Kohler's, the Kohler 28 efi has been as flawless as any engine I have owned. It gets very good fuel economy, cranks perfectly, switches off perfectly, engages the blades at the lowest throttle setting and has very fast responsive power.

I personally found the Kawi's to be a little more temperamental.

I would never go back to an engine without electronic fuel injection.

Maybe people dont like Kohler because they are built by Americans in an American factory in Wisconson.
