i have one, haven't used it in years, too much cobble (ask argos) and hard grounds
Example of a water meter installed in a yoke
Constant pressure AVB along with other goodies to replace.
Gotta replace backflow and controller to start.
I actually have the parts to fix that old wye type valve if it doesn't work anymore.
Figured that the AVB check was stuck and sure enough it was.
Id say this controller has some more life left, i would have let it ride a few more yrs... lol

can you explain why it would fail to provide effective backflow protection?
If it is SOP, and approved by your local water districts and building codes, I don't see why there is anything wrong with it.
Any of you guys work with meter yokes? (the red iron assembly in the photo)
