Hard-To-Start Stihl BP Blower

    A couple of weeks ago I posted about having problems cranking this guy up when the engine was already hot. FYI the ignition module had to be replaced. According to the shop this is fairly common. Now you know.

    Mine is great :realmad: always starts on the 5th or 6th pull.. :angry:

    We have the same problem with both of our Stihl BP when hot thjere a bear to
    start, have to keep turning the switch on and off, or let it sit for a while.

    The only BP blower you should ever buy is an ECHO

    i've never had a problem with any stihl equipment.....sounds like you folks need to do some preventitive maintenance :drinkup:

    yeah, i have a magnum 420. and its soooo hard to start up at the begining of the day, i took the spark arrestor out and it helped a little. but i dont really mind its not that big of a deal to me.

    The BR400 that I have had since 1998 has alot of hours on it and it still starts easy. I will still be buying the Stihl products, I like most of their stuff, except the hedge trimmers.
