has anyone tried these to stay cool ?

    never heard of them, but it looks like a good idea. I wouldn't mind trying one
    except for the cost!

    HUmmm interesting..I wonder if they stay scool or melt right away. I know those frozen bandanna things were heavy and became warm right away.

    I just looked at those yesterday for our forklift drivers and wondered the same thing. The price is really high and I looked at a few vendors that swear that the gel in them stays cool a long time but I think when its this hot nothing will help more than a few minutes.

    Here's a good one for you. Take a nice life vest and cut slots in it in multiple areas. Sow the cut hem and add a layer of disposable cooler foam to it. Now those early 90's ice packs (that used to be in the freezer and are now probably in some old cooler of yours) have a practicle use. It does work, but if your foam isn't the right thickness (around 1/16") it will be too hot or too cool.
