i dont mean to sound like a smart a**, but you can go into any electronics store and pick up an pair for less than $20. Or, you could check out the 3M worktunes which i think you can plug into an ipod.

There's some good ryobi ones out there at home depot they cost about $70.00
they cancel the noise while playing music from an iPod/iPhone/mp3 player.
Or you could get what I use worktunes :headphones: they also plug into an iPod/iPhone/mp3 player.

They also have iPod control cables [controls the player] that intergrates with the headphones etc.

$20 headphones will sound like crap. Any of the Shure IEM will sound vastly better and offer a vital layer of hearing protection. I wear external muff Peltor H10A over the top of them. Works well.

Replaceable cables are a must and this is the best move in the industry. Nothing worse than spending well over $200 on high quality IEM only to have cables fail in 3 –9 months of industrial use.

dude, get some worktunes. For 5 years I never wore hearing protection. Last year I started using my ipod on about half of my lawns, (with regular headphones or earbuds, in order for you to hear the music you need to crank up the volume to max) you will KILL your hearing!

I get **** from my family, teachers, friends about how they either have to talk to me in a loud voice, or repeat things to me. "what?" is a very frequent question for me.
I've never been tested, (probably should) but I lost a significant amount of hearing

My parents bought me worktunes for Christmas, can't wait to try em out!

Cuz losing a significant amount of hearing by the time your 17 sucks

As others have suggested, I use the worktunes and plug in my phone and play pandora or off of my playlist. An added advantage is that you can also hear when you phone rings throgh the headphones. If you really want to keep dirt and grim out of your phone, buy a wet box from any canoeing/boating store and put the phone in it and there is a small play to feed out the cable to the headphones. Most of the boxes came in a size small enough to just fit the phone and maybe a wallet if needed. :usflag:

Worktunes are the best! just keep some extra batteries in the truck or your pocket.
