I have done a search for a set of headphones that have a built in microphone, but have had no luck. My people use the headsets w/the radio built in, but now with our large properties (2 and more acre sizes), the crew is being split up where you are no longer able to see each other, and I feel it is very unsafe (there are some dangerous areas on some of the properties, ie., steep hills, bed creeks, etc.).

I am looking for a set that has a radio built in to give the operator something to listen to, and to block out the noise from the equipment, but also where a built-in microphone allows each crew member to talk back in forth (it would cut in over the radio). The head set could work either by push button or by vox.

Does anyone know of such headsets? If so, can you please tell me where I can buy some? I would greatly appreciate the help!

what I want are headsets that protect hearing, play fm or mp3's, and I can push a button to communicate to someone else wearing a similar headset up to 1/2 mile away on the same property, and it cuts out fm when you are trying to use the "walkie talkie" feature. and I want the walkie talkie built in. and rechargeable, working all day on batteries.

This headset I have not found. most headsets that say they can "communicate" mean they let you shout at the fella next to you and they let that part of the vocal range- 400 to 4000 hz- into the headset through a mike on the headset.

I want to talk to my buddy weadeating 400 yards away, that headset usually has to be plugged into a walkie talkie, and no fm music.

You may have to look at some place like B&H photovideo in the video production department. Video crews wear them all the time, although some still run hardwire.
