health care

    i dont know if this belongs in this area, but what about health care?

    i have aetna, and now its going up again!!!

    any ideas for a different company, or anyone have good sucess with a program for self-employed? :hammerhead:

    In MD(and other states) you can get a self insured plan. We had this for a few years. It works well if you have healthy employees. We did drop it because one of the employees spouse had heart problems and was racking up the bills. We were still covered because the plan includes insurance for large losses but the next year the rates went up because of that.

    Basically you hire a company that does this and pay a administration fee for each employee each month. Then you pay for the actual claims that come in. There is insurance that kicks in if a individual employee has a major issue so your out of pocket payment is limited.
