I started doing some hedges the other day, but my hedge trimmers just are not cutting through them. I own a pair of echoe hedge trimmers. The hedges are a really leafy type hedge. Is it my hedge trimmers or is there a technique that I do not know about? Any help would be much appreciated.

This is the exact reason that I have two different types of hedge trimmer.
One is for those leafy shrubs, and one is for those leafy w/denser branches type of shrubs.

    Example

My double-sided hedge trimmers (left) are for those smaller leafy shrubs and for fine detail finish work.

My single-sided hedge trimmers (right) are for denser growth shrubs with plenty of lite branch growth. I even use them on small trees with light density branches.

Be sure to continue your research, ensuring yourself of which type of hedge trimmer will best fit each application that you are faced with.

Most importantly, keep the blades sharp!
