I know this part is dedicated to mowing, but I did not see any other place to put this question. I just started up my business last year. I'm thinking about doing snow removal for the customers I cut lawns for. What would you recommend as the best way to do it? Should I contract the work out for the entire Winter? Or should I just charge as I do it? If I contract the work, how do I go about charging?

    Thanks

    Expert,

I'm in St Clair Shores(suburb of Detroit, about 15 minutes away)
I tried that plow site, but it isn't working.

I'm using my 93 Ranger to pull my stuff. I have a 5x10 Trailer. And I just purchased a 36" Exmark walk behind. I have a Stihl Edger, a Yard machines Trimmer, and a Homelite blower. The blower and trimmer aren't industrial, but they're getting me by for this year.

    What about you?

are you plowing with your ranger?

I haven't plowed at all, and I probably won't with that truck. Last year I just shoveled snow from the driveways of my lawn customers. This is my second year as well, although my first with the high tech equipment.

I snowplow with a '93 Ranger 4x4. It can't be beat for residential driveways (except maybe by a Jeep!), but it is not really big enough for parking lots (takes to much time).

I charge as I do it, CT winters on the shoreline aren't dependable, so I consider plow income as a bonus.

From what I remember about last winter, most of you guys didn't get very much snow. Snow removal biz last year was terrible. Maybe you should try a different side of it. A Snow Installation Device. :D
