This is my first year in business! I've been mowing lawns since I was 11; dropped it and just picked it up again. I have decided to pursue this for the somewhat foreseeable future. I only have about 10 accounts  but would like closer to 35-40. I think it is an issue with a lack of advertising. My question to you experienced folk would be what would net a better result: flyers, door hangers, ad sense or post cards? A more specif question I had is what sort of call to action should I have and how much should I give up to get them as a client?

Hey there, just wanted to say that I helped my ex-husband get his lawn cutting business off the ground by passing out flyers. We spent one week going around and putting flyers on doors...that was the only time we had to market. Many people are happy to help the "little guy" (meaning business size, not you as a person of course). To help reduce the cost of the flyers, we did 1/2 page size flyers.

I just ordered 5,000; this is the most I've ever invested in marketing. Going mainly for fall cleanups and such on one side and snow removal on the other. Hope it works

Flyers are cheaper.. hand deliver. Try different advertising ideas and places for them. Track what works and increase the good ones.
