    I recently posted a problem with a John Deere SX 95 garden tractor that I am having. The 12.5 Kawasaki runs great until you try and engage the blades or Put it in a forward gear or reverse. The tractor then instantly dies as if you are turning the key off.

    I was told by the dealer that there are 3-4 different safety switches on this mower. I really don't want to replace them all. Someone gave me this mower so I do not have a manual for it. Does anyone have a manual /wiring diagram to look this up?

    Thanks

    OK, Here's the wire diagram. I tried to turn it but it would be too wide for the page;

    Here is the switch locations;

    You can un-plug each switch and check them for opening/closing with a multimeter set on ohm's scale.

    Good Luck

    With the ignition switch off just unplug each safety switch one at a time, Put your test meter leads (meter set on ohm's scale) across the switch post then operate the switch. Watch the meter and see if the switch makes contact one way but not the other.

    GOT IT!

    turned out to be the neutral safety switch and blade safety switch.

    Thanks for all of the leads.
