I have come across two Walkers in the local trade-in-times for sale. Both are 2001 Model T's, one with a 25hp Kawasaki and one with the 26hp EFI Kohler. The one had the 25hp Kawasaki replaced last year. They both are in good cosmetic shape. They are used by a rather large outfit in the area but are maintained weekly.( Oil changed, blades sharpened daily, washed etc)The only thing bad on both mowers are the PTO's which will nedd to be replaced and the seats on both need to be replaced. Both come with 42" GHS decks and 9.5 bushel catchers. The seller is asking $3800 for each but is willing to drop the price for the repair onthe PTO's. I can't decide which one to buy or if they are even worth buying. He told me a gentleman from Pittsburgh (dealer rep) wants to pck them up on Wednesday night if they are still there, fix them and sell them for about $5500-$6000. Here are the breakdown of the mower specs.

    1). 2001 Walker Model T 2) 2001 Walker Model T
    - 26hp Kohler EFI engine - 25hp Kawasaki engine
    - 42" GHS deck w/ 9.5 Bushel catcher ( replaced last year)
    - 3417 Hours - 42" GHS deck w/ 9.5 Bushel
    - Needs new PTO - 1749 Hours
    - No other major problems - Needs new PTO

$3800 for each. Is it a good deal or should I pass this up. Right now I am leaning towards #2 with the 25hp Kawasaki because it has less hours. What are your thoughts? Help Please. Thank You

Any idea why a big company would get rid of the unit with the low POHs? The PTO won't cost much! I paid less than half what they are asking, but I didn't get 42" deck, and I didn't get the big bin. I think if you can get the low POH unit for $3000 I would go for it.

Just to kind of give you an idea of some deals out there. I bought an 01 Walker MT today 3/21/05 with 48 inch GHS, 26 EFI Kohler, 342 hours in like new condition, no rip in seat, no dents etc, for 4500. My one suggestion is to take cash with you! Hope this helps.
