Help on Estimate for Residential

    Whats the going rate for installing 10-5gallon shrubs ? This is all the client needs done.

    Three times all you material costs. Example 10 five gallon shrubs @ of 350.00 plus 1 bale of peat 15.00 and 1 yard of mulch at 30.00. The proposal should be 1185.00.

    JMHO - this "rule of thumb" would only apply if the shrubs are bought wholesale.

    I appreciate all the info guys. The client already purchased the shrubs, she just need a price to plant the shrubs.

    One man and half a day's work, barring any unusual circumstances. Charge extra if you have to bring your own dolly :)

    Read the posts on this site about people paying $15+ for 3 gals., going to HD/Lowe's for plant material, etc.

    Occasionally I'll pop in to a retail center to buy a specialty item, and I'm amazed to see different contractors with carts loaded to the hilt with "bread and butter" plants.

    Like the Isobel said; some people are just stupid.
