I am a new homeowner with 1 acre of grass with mild sloping. I am looking at purchasing a ZTR. After going to three dealers along with Lowes and Home Depot, it seems like the best brands for my needs are Gravely, Snapper, Hustler, Scag, and Toro. One of the dealers told me to hit this forum for additional information. Given my needs, I would like to know what is the best brand with respect to quality, longevity, and price all other things being equal? Thanks so much.

Welcome! If you spend a little time perusing this site you'll find so many posts on this very question you'll end up more confused than before.

That being said, the easiest way to limit your options is by cost. In my opinion the Toro MX is the best deal for under $3500.00.

A priority is the quality of your dealer and service shop and its proximity to you. Warranty is key to me as well.

Consider the transmissions on the unit, as well.

    Good luck!

Toro. And get a high wheel 21" walk behind, too. You will need it for close in work.
