I've been asked by a family friend to do some yard work and I'm not sure how much to quote. I'll be spreading about 30 bags of mulch, cutting a few low hanging branches from a 15' palm tree, and planting about 70 small flowers. If anyone could please help me to quote this at a fair price, it'd be much appreciated as this is not my area of expertise.
    Thanks, Devin

While I'd normally agree with you, this is for a family friend that insists on paying. Long story short...this person was also my realtor on the house I bought 2 weeks ago and figured I could use the money. Since she insists on paying me, I'm looking to find out what most people would charge to do the job. Once I have that number, I'll take of a respective amount. I'm just trying to find something to work with

Your looking at about 2 yards of mulch, sounds like the branches are no big deal and then planting the flowers. So whatever you'd normally get a yard in mulch x2 and maybe a few hours of planting

Any idea on a normal price for that? I've never mulched or planted flowers for anyone. This is by no means anything I'm trying to make a living from, its a one time deal. Any help would be appreciated as i don't want to offend her with a high price.
    Thanks, Devin

YUPP Mulch price x2 plus if you're putting in 70 plants (that material's unit cost / probably a quarter of that price per hole at that quantity= your install price.) So if the plant is 10 bucks put it in for $2.5 a hole...PLUS THE MATERIAL COST!!!

Since she is supplying the mulch, you would normally charge the price of the mulch x2 for labor or would labor be the approximate cost of the 30 bags of mulch.
And just to be clear, she is buying a couple of flats of small flowers. For planting labor, I charge 1/4 of the cost of the plants?
