I'm in central SC, sandy soil, established (50+ yrs) centipede lawn on 8 acres with pecan trees. Irrigated. Recently renovated my family home place and re-landscaped. Back yard has lots of shade from pecan/oak/dogwood trees, and centipede won't grow. Any tips on either overseeding the area or sprigging with another grass? What will blend well with the centipede? I'm tired of walking on dirt! (moss grows well, though!) Thanks.

In your area your best bet would be St Augustine. As far as I know it can only be laid out as Sod.
