Hello All, I've just removed a walkway and backfilled with fresh loam and seed. The grass is starting to come in but over the past couple days I've noticed a lot of crabgrass/weeds popping up. Is this normal? Should I pull out the weeds by hand or just let it fill in and take care of it after the area is full grown? Also, any other tips on how to take care of newly seeded areas? I've been watering twice a day and other than the weeds its coming in good. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Its because of the heat. You started a little late. No biggie , let em grow and it will die out 2nd week of sept. Then overseed and wack it with starter fert.
