Can anyone give me an approx conversion for topsoil from weight to cubic feet or cubic yard. I am purchasing topsoil by the ton for a large job and need it converted to cubic feet or cubic yards

was approached for an enormous job and really can't wing this one.

    Thank you

I don't think there is a conversion, the weight would depend alot on moisture content

I know that my 1/2 ton truck just about bottoms out with 1/2 cubic yard of topsoil but the soil here in Florida is way different than what you've got so I don't think I could even guess

Why not ask your topsoil vendor to give you that info. He should be more help than anyone on here... to many variables on type, composition and moisture content to be asking here, I would think.

I belie e 1 yd of topsoil dry is approx 2400 lbs. I do know that may gravels are 1.4T/yd or 2800lbs/yd
