I am looking at the J. Thomas Catalog and came accross high lift mulching blades. Has anyone ever heard of them or tried them? How good do they work? Thanks

Are you talking about a multilevel (like tri-level) cutting edge, or Gator type? I have run both. The high lift mulchers work great with high lift straight blades. The Gators don't work so well for me in spring growth on the Lazer, because I they tend to cause not clumping, make the grass disperse in small balls that will later dry and be noticable. I prefer a no-lift multi-level mulching blade on top of a solid foil highlift for speing growth.

i've used the high lift mulchers, you get the clean cut of a high lift, with some mulching effect added.

Try the MEG MO blades. We will mulch 25 to30 % better and out wear 2 to3 sets of those blades.
